House of Bruar

A settlement of north Perth and Kinross, Bruar sits by the Bruar Water near its junction with the River Garry, 3 miles (5 km) west of Blair Atholl. The Clan Donnachaidh Centre and House of Bruar shopping complex attract visitors who also have the chance to enjoy a woodland walk to the Falls of Bruar. The planting of larch, pine and beech to enhance the walk is attributed to the Duke of Atholl following the Humble Petition of Bruar Water delivered to him by Robert Burns in 1787.
