Collace

Perth and Kinross

A settlement of eastern Perth and Kinross, Collace lies on the north side of the Sidlaw Hills, 8 miles (12 km) northeast of Perth. It comprises the two separate locations of Collace and Kirkton of Collace. To the east the King's Seat rises to 377m (1105 feet), Black Hill to 360m (1181 feet) and Dunsinane Hill at 308m (1012 feet) on whose summit stands Macbeth's Castle. In 1991 a national controversy arose following a planning application to extend Collace Quarry to within 274m (900 feet) of Macbeth's Castle.
