Coshieville

Perth and Kinross

A hamlet in the Strath of Appin, Perth and Kinross, Coshieville lies on the Keltney Burn 5 miles (7 km) west of Aberfeldy. In the 18th Century the Coshieville hotel was a 'Kingshouse' occupied by officers of General Wade's road-making force, the track on which he built his road following an old cattle droving route to the ford of Lyon at Comrie Castle. A fair was formerly held at Coshieville on the last Thursday of October and another in December to sell cattle and sheep reared in the district.
