North Lanarkshire

A village of Clydesdale in North Lanarkshire, Overtown lies to the west of the River Clyde and a mile (1.5 km) south of Wishaw. It developed in the 19th century as a mining village with railways serving nearby collieries. Its population declined after the closure of the mines and the railway in the early 1950s.
