Holytown


North Lanarkshire

One of a group of conjoined villages in the Bothwell Parish of North Lanarkshire, Holytown lies 2 miles (3 km) northeast of Hamilton. It developed in the 18th century in association with coal mining and a railway junction station named Holytown was opened at nearby New Stevenston in 1869.
