Springside
North AyrshireA village on the southeast border of North Ayrshire, Springside lies 1½ miles (2.5 km) west of Crosshouse and 3 miles (5 km) east of Irvine. The Garrier Burn flows immediately to the east of the village. There was once a railway station in Springside and a coal mine to the north, but both were gone by the 1970s. The A71 now bypasses Springside, a quarter-mile (0.5 km) to the south.
