Williamston

West Lothian

A locality now largely swallowed up by the new town of Livingston in West Lothian. The farmstead of Nether Williamston remains on Murieston Road but has been converted to domestic use, while the C-listed Williamston Bridge over the Murieston Water, a quarter-mile (0.5 km) to the north northeast, dates from 1648, but has most-likely subsequently been rebuilt. Williamston Primary School is located in Bankton, on the opposite side of the river. Another farm at Over Williamston is situated 2½ miles (4 km) to the south southwest.

Much of the area here was zoned for industrial development as the fourth major industrial area on the 'corners' of Livingston, but the land around Williamston has only been partially developed to form the Oakbank Business Park.
