Lochluichart
Highland

A scattered hamlet in Easter Ross, Lochluichart is strung out along the northwestern shore of Loch Luichart, 4 miles (6.5 km) west of Gorstan. The 'Parliamentary' Kinlochluichart Parish Church dates from 1827. Lochluichart Lodge was built in the early 19th century and lies at the centre of the Lochluichart Estate. The railway station opened in 1954, replacing one which was built in 1870 but lost when the level of Loch Luichart was raised in connection with the Conan Hydro Electric Scheme. Nearby are the Mossford, Grudie Bridge and Achanalt power stations which also form part of this scheme.
