Insh

Highland

A hamlet of Badenoch and Strathspey, Insh lies 4 miles (6.5 km) east of Kingussie in the upper valley of the River Spey to the west of the Cairngorm Mountains. The unusual Insh Village Church dates from the mid-19th C. and there was once a school here. The nearby Insh Marshes are one of the most extensive river marshes in the UK with abundant wetland and woodland birdlife protected by the RSPB.
