A hamlet in the Lochaber district of SW Highland Council Area, Kentallen lies on Kentallen Bay on the east side of Loch Linnhe, 3 miles (5 km) southwest of Ballachulish. It is associated with a rare rock type known as Kentallenite, a type of monzonite which occurs in diorite igneous intrusions here. A railway station opened here in 1903 on the Ballachulish branch of the Callander and Oban Railway, but the line closed in 1966.
