Dundonnell

Highland

A location in Wester Ross, Highland Council Area, Dundonnell lies at the southern end of Loch Broom, 12 miles (19 km) southeast of Ullapool. It owes its origin to an inn established here following the completion in 1851 of the so-called Destitution Road between Dingwall and Aultbea, built following the potato famine of 1846. The white-harled Dundonnell House dates from 1767.
