A location on the north coast of Sutherland, Highland Council Area, Coldbackie lies at the head of Tongue Bay, 2 miles north of Tongue. The small bay here is dominated by a sheer conglomerate red sandstone cliff. Skullomie Harbour nearby is said to have been built for the use of the people of Tongue.
