A location in SE Sutherland, Highland Council Area, Cambusavie lies to the west of Loch Fleet, 6 miles (10 km) to the north of Dornoch. It comprises a farm and a site of a former hospital on opposite sides of the A9 road. The hospital, closed in 1989, was built near the Mound Station in 1906 as the Sutherland County Infectious Diseases Hospital. The various isolation wards were built of wood frames and corrugated iron.
