A sheep-farm at the head of Ewesdale in NE Dumfries and Galloway, Eweslees is located towards the foot of the Eweslees Burn, 8 miles (13 km) north of Langholm and 13 miles (21 km) southwest of Hawick. The old farmhouse here dates from 1727 and is C-listed. Prince Suprabhat Chirasakti of Thailand was killed nearby when the Sea Hurricane he was flying crashed on 12th September 1942. The adopted son of the exiled King Prajadhipok, he was serving as a ferry pilot with the RAF Air Transport Auxiliary.
