Woodside
Fife

An eastern suburb of Glenrothes in central Fife, Woodside lies on the Bighty Burn to the south of the River Leven and east of the A 92 road from Kirkcaldy to Cupar. The former village of Woodside was expanded in 1950 as a residential area for the accommodation of Glenrothes Development Corporation staff. This was the first phase of the development of the new town of Glenrothes, the first house being opened here on 4th July 1951 by Lady McNeill, wife of the Chairman of the Development Corporation.
