A location and former estate in the W of the City of Edinburgh Council Area, Carlowrie lies to the north of the River Almond and Edinburgh Airport, a mile (1.5 km) east of Kirkliston. It comprises Carlowrie Castle (1852), with Carlowrie Cottages to the north of Pepper Wood Nature Reserve, and Carlowrie Farm to the northeast.
