Allandale
Falkirk

A village in SW Falkirk Council area, lying to the west of Bonnybridge on the B816, close to the Forth-Clyde Canal, the line of the Antonine Wall and the main railway line. Constructed to house workers for the nearby G.R Stein Brickworks, this company ran every aspect of their employee's lives. The village now comprises three parts: Allandale Cottages in the east, Dundas Cottages in the west and 20th-century artisan dwellings which form a Conservation Area. The brickworks began an amateur football club - Steins Thistle - in 1972 and the team still play at Allandale Park.
