Brightons


Falkirk

A settlement in Falkirk Council area, Brightons is situated to the south of the Union Canal and a half-mile (0.8 km) south southwest of Polmont. The village grew in conjunction with a notable sandstone quarry. This operated from the later 17th C. on land owned by the Dukes of Hamilton and fine sandstone was transported to Edinburgh where it was used to build the New Town.
