A village in Dumfries and Galloway, Springholm lies on the Spottes Burn, a mile (1.5 km) to the east of Kirkpatrick Durham and 6 miles (10 km) northeast of Castle Douglas. Established c.1800 as a planned village, it comprises a single street of 19th-century cottages surrounded by 20th-century housing.
