Sandhead Shop & Post Office

A village of the Rhins of Galloway, Dumfries and Galloway, Sandhead lies on Sandhead Bay, a broad sandy inlet at the head of Luce Bay, 6 miles (10 km) south of Stranraer. A half-mile (1 km) to the west lay Balgreggan House, which was built in 1730 to a design by William Adam but demolished in 1966.
