Kingholm Quay

A small village with a harbour in Dumfries and Galloway, Kingholm Quay lies on the east bank of the River Nith 1½ miles (2.5 km) south of Dumfries. The harbour here was built in 1747 and is still occasionally used today by recreational craft. The quayside buildings are used as commercial enterprises. The village has developed through the building of public housing and, later, various phases of private development. Kingholm Quay benefits from a community centre, a popular restaurant and public house, together with a few shops.
