Dunscore
Dumfries and Galloway

A village of Nithsdale in Dumfries and Galloway, Dunscore lies in a parish of the same name between the Cairn Water and the River Nith, 9 miles (14 km) northwest of Dumfries. Dunscore was the birthplace of Jane Haining, a missionary to the Jewish mission in Hungary and one of very few Scots to die in the Nazi death camp at Auschwitz.
