Drumjohn
Dumfries and Galloway

A location in Dumfries and Galloway, Drumjohn lies on the A713 road to the east of Loch Doon between Carsphairn and Dalmellington. Discharging into the Carsphairn Lane here is a power station, the highest on the Galloway Hydro Scheme, but also the most recent, completed in 1985, and the smallest at 2.25 MW. There is also a needle valve which controls water abstracted from the Water of Deugh (1½ miles (2.5 km) to the east northeast) passing it either through the power station or to be storage in Loch Doon.
