A location in NE Dumfries and Galloway, Sorbie lies on the right bank of the Ewes Water, 3 miles (5 km) north of Langholm. The Sorbie Burn descends from Mid Hill through Sorbie Hope to join the Bauchle Sike. The poet Henry Scott Riddell was born here in 1789.
