A small village of Berwickshire in the Scottish Borders, Gordon lies 8 miles (13 km) northwest of Kelso. It developed in the 19th century in association with road and rail transport. Mellerstain House, built in 1725 for George Baillie to a design by William Adam lies 3 miles (5 km) to the south and to the west lies Greenknowe Tower.
