Port Arthur

An extension of Scalloway on the west coast of the Shetland Mainland, Port Arthur is located on the Ness of Westshore, a half-mile (0.8 km) southwest of the village centre. The site of a former herring curing station, NAFC Marine Centre UHI (formerly the North Atlantic Fisheries College) occupied purpose-built buildings here in 1992.
