Crossmyloof

A village which, by the end of 19th century had become a small residential suburb located 2 miles (3 km) to the southwest of Glasgow city centre, Crossmyloof lies between Shawlands to the south and Pollokshields to the north. It is serviced by a station on the Glasgow to East Kilbride railway line. Crossmyloof was home to Scotland's first indoor ice rink, built beside the station in 1907. It was rebuilt on the same site in 1935 but finally closed in 1986 and has been replaced by a supermarket.
