Dunrossness

A hamlet in a district of the same name, Dunrossness is centred around a junction in the A970 road, a half-mile (0.8 km) southwest of Boddam and 16 miles (26 km) south southwest of Lerwick in the South Mainland of Shetland. The settlement grew up around Dunrossness Kirk (1790) and now includes a post office, police station and an industrial estate. Dunrossness Primary School, with a roll of 130 including nursery children (2012), lies to the east towards Boddam, while Dunrossness Baptist Church (1912) lies to the west towards Ringasta.
