A residential suburb of Barrhead in East Renfrewshire, Dovecothall lies to the west of Glasgow Road, a half-mile (0.8 km) northeast of the town centre. Dovecothall developed from the small village of Dovehill. It comprises public housing blocks developed in the 1920s and 1930s.
