Galafoot

A location lying 1¼ miles (2 km) southeast of Galashiels in the Scottish Borders, Galafoot is where the Gala Water falls into the River Tweed. On the right bank the sizeable Galafoot Sewage Works occupies Cellary Haugh, while on the left bank are the remains of a Gas Works on Galafoot Lane. Redbridge Viaduct carries the Borders Railway over the Tweed to the east, while a branch once swung south to Selkirk here.
