Craigmarloch

(East Kilbride)

A locality in Inverclyde, Craigmarloch lies on the A761 road, to the west of Leperstone Reservoir, 2¼ miles (3.5 km) southeast of Port Glasgow. There is a small settlement at Craigmarloch itself, with farms at North Craigmarloch and South Craigmarloch. The settlement was once known as East Kilbride - and shown as such on earlier editions of the Ordnance Survey map - but the name was presumably changed to avoid confusion with the New Town of the same name. Craigmarloch Wood lies to the northwest, covering the slopes of a hill also known as Craigmarloch.
