Fairfield

A former hamlet that once lay just to the northeast of Loch Fitty in West Fife, Fairfield comprises rows of cottages built in the later 19th C. to accommodate workers for the Lassodie Coal Company. The site was cleared in the 1940s and was later lost as part of the St. Ninian's opencast coal mine, which operated until 2013.
