Argyll and Bute

A crofting village on the north coast of Islay, Argyll and Bute, Sanaigmore lies 8 miles (12 km) northwest of Bridgend. Lying on a bay of the same name, the village lies 2 mile (3 km) southeast of the headland of Ton Mhor. The Exmouth Memorial commemorates the 241 people who lost their lives when the brig 'The Exmouth of Newcastle' was wrecked on rocks nearby in 1847.
