Trodigal
Argyll and Bute

A small settlement in the Kintyre Peninsula of Argyll and Bute, Trodigal is located a half-mile (1 km) east of Machrihanish and a mile (1.5 km) northwest of Drumlemble. Coal was hewn here from the small Argyll Colliery which operated until 1945. The site, at East Trodigal, is now occupied by the Machrihanish Caravan and Camping Park. There was once a halt at Trodigal on the Campbeltown & Machrihanish Light Railway. This railway also served the mine although, after its closure in 1932, coal was exported by road.
