Ardailly

Argyll and Bute

A small settlement on the west coast of the island of Gigha in Argyll and Bute, Ardailly is situated to the southwest of the island's highest peak, Creag Bhan, 1¼ miles (2 km) north northwest of Ardminish. Ardailly represents a parcel of croftland which was not part of the community buy-out of the island, remaining in private hands. A ruined but C-listed watermill overlooking Port an Duin was built in the early 19th C. to produce oatmeal and its iron overshot waterwheel remains largely intact. Other properties include two holiday homes and an eco-roundhouse.
