Located on the southwest side of the Crinan Canal and on Loch Crinan, the hamlet of Bellanoch lies 2 miles (3 km) southeast of the village of Crinan. A 5 span cast-iron bridge built in 1851 crosses the River Add which joins the Loch Crinan at Bellanoch and to the south extends the Knapdale Forest.
