Aberdeenshire

A village in an Aberdeenshire parish of the same name, Methlick lies on the River Ythan, 6 miles (10 km) northwest of Ellon. To the southeast of the village is Haddo House, which was designed for the 2nd Earl of Aberdeen by William Adam in 1732, and has been managed by the National Trust for Scotland since 1979. The adjacent Haddo Country Park, run by Aberdeenshire Council, was also opened in 1979.
