Dunecht

Aberdeenshire

A estate village in Central Aberdeenshire, Dunecht lies on the Kinnernie Burn, 12 miles (20 km) west of Aberdeen, beyond the Loch of Skene. It was constructed in the early 20th century by Aberdeen-based architect George Bennett Mitchell and many of the cottages are listed. Dunecht House, dating from 1820, was a seat of the earls of Crawford and Balcarres and is now owned by the Pearson family (Viscounts Cowdray).
