Kirkton of Airlie


Angus

A location with a church in W Angus, Kirkton of Airlie lies in Strathmore, 5 miles (8 km) southwest of Kirriemuir. Airlie Castle, a seat of the Ogilvies, lies to the northwest at the junction of the Melgam Water with the River Isla. It was built by Walter Ogilvy of Lintrathen following a grant made to him in 1432 by James I.
