Mid Kelton
Dumfries and Galloway

A small hamlet in the Stewartry, Mid Kelton lies 1¼ miles (2 km) south southwest of Castle Douglas. Kelton Parish Church lies immediately to the north and dates from 1805. It was remodelled by R. Rowand Anderson in 1879. In a wood a little further north is the unusual Aegypto-Grecian mausoleum of improving landowner Sir William Douglas (1745 - 1809), founder of Castle Douglas and patron of Newton Stewart.
