Badbea

Highland

The ruined settlement of Badbea lies on the eastern coast of Sutherland in Highland Council Area, 16 miles (24 km) north of Brora. It was built in the early 19th century to accommodate families evicted from Largwell who then subsequently emigrated to New Zealand. A memorial to the former residents was erected in 1912.
