Achara
HighlandA location in the Appin District of SW Highland, Achara lies a quarter-mile (0.5 km) southwest of Duror. It comprises the white-harled Scots Baronial Achara House, with fine gardens which are open in the summer months, together with a farm and a standing stone which, at 3.7m (12 feet) in height, is regarded as one of the most impressive in the area.
