Kirktown of Deskford (Deskford)
MorayA kirkton settlement in Moray Council Area, Kirktown of Deskford lies 2 miles (3 km) south of Cullen on the Burn of Deskford. Created a burgh of barony in 1698, the former Deskford Tower was a seat of the Earls of Findlater and Seafield. Its church dates from 1551. A new village was built in the 1760s when a bleachfield was established here but the industry failed to prosper and the village, now largely occupied by commuters, never expanded.
