Urquhart

Moray

Situated to the north of Lhanbryde in Moray, the village of Urquhart lies at the heart of fertile agricultural land where once there stood a Benedictine priory founded by King David I in 1125. A carved wheel cross in the wall of the church hall is all that remains of this foundation whose priors were expelled in 1460 by the monks of Pluscarden Abbey.
