Perth and Kinross

A location in Glen Lyon, Perth and Kinross, Cashlie lies on the River Lyon, 2 miles (3 km) east of Loch Lyon. The farm of Cashlie (Castles) lies close to the remains of four Iron Age forts: Caisteal Cona Bhacain, Bhacain, the Castle of the Red Man and Cambuslaie. In legend, these were four of the twelve castles in 'the crooked glen of stones' attributed to Fingal. Cashlie Power Station is situated a mile (1.8 km) to the east at the eastern end of the Stronuich Reservoir.
