Dalrymple
East Ayrshire

A village of East Ayrshire, Dalrymple lies on the River Doon 5 miles (8 km) south of Ayr. Its main features lie on its two short streets, notably the bridge on the Girvan to Edinburgh road which was built in 1849, and single storey white washed cottages with dormers, some of which date back to the early 19th Century. Actor Iain Cuthbertson (1930 - 2009) was a notable resident.
