Located on the northern coastline of the island of North Uist in the Western Isles, Newtonferry (Gael: Port nan Long) is a small settlement which lies a mile (1.5 km) north of the peak of Beinn Mhor. Until the construction of the Berneray Causeway, ferries left from Newtonferry for that island and for Leverburgh in Harris.
