A crofting township in the Outer Hebrides, Coll (Gael: Col) lies 5½ miles (9 km) northeast of Stornoway on the east side of Lewis. Upper Coll (Gael:Col Uarach) lies to the southwest, separated by two streams; the River Coll (Gael: Abhainn Chuill) and Gil Thaisader.
