Innerleven

(Dubbieside)
Fife

Situated at the mouth of the River Leven on the coast of Fife, Innerleven lies between Methil to the southwest and Leven to the north. Once a distinct settlement associated with fishing and weaving, Innerleven is now a northeastern district of Methil. It changed markedly with the building of Methil docks from the late 19th century and again in the 1980s when the old houses were demolished and the area was comprehensively re-developed by the Scottish Housing Association. Also known as Dubbieside, Innerleven is linked to the town of Leven by the Bawbee Brig which crosses the River Leven here. The Bayview Stadium of East Fife Football Club and Methil Industrial Estate are all located here, while Methil Power Station was demolished in 2011.
