Pitkeathly Wells

A hamlet in Perth and Kinross, Pitkeathly Wells lies to the north of the Ochil Hills, 2 miles (3 km) southeast of Bridge of Earn. The five springs here were long famed for their healthy minerals and were partly responsible for the development of Bridge of Earn as a spa town in the 19th Century. Schweppes took over the springs in 1910 but after a fire in 1927 water bottling came to an end. In 1949 the wells ceased to function as a spa.
