Pitkeathly Wells

A hamlet in Perth and Kinross, Pitkeathly Wells lies to the north of the Ochil Hills, 2 miles (3 km) southeast of Bridge of Earn. The springs here were long famed for their healthy minerals and were partly responsible for the development of Bridge of Earn as a spa town in the 19th Century. Schweppes took over the springs in 1910 but after a fire in 1927 water bottling came to an end and in 1949 the wells ceased to function as a spa.
